As someone who’s strongly identified as an iPhone user for the last decade, I knew it was going to take a lot to impress me. But spoiler alert: The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is incredibly impressive. In fact, if you hang around the corners of the tech space online, then you’ve likely already heard that android phones have surpassed Apple in terms of, well, everything (although many have been saying this for a while). Folks say you can’t beat an android’s customization, storage options, and, more recently, its camera quality. We’ll get into this later, but the S23 has, by far, some of the best camera abilities on the market.
Without further ado, here’s my honest review of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, along with in-depth details, and specs. If you’re totally sold on this phone, you’re also in luck: It’s on sale for Black Friday from several retailers.

My Review of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
I’ve been testing the S23 Ultra for about two months and have been trying to use it to its maximum capacity, but even so, I haven’t unlocked every feature — it offers a lot in terms of customization and what you can do.
Functionality-wise, it offers lightning speed and plenty of storage, which is great for me since I used my phone for work (and take a lot of photos and download a lot of files). As an iPhone user, I was expecting to have a weeks-long learning curve, but the phone is super user-friendly and intuitive, starting from something basic like setting an alarm, to using the S-Pen to send my husband a grocery list (you can also use it sign documents and edit photos).
What makes the S23 Ultra really stand out from the pack is its camera, and ultimately, that’s what you’re paying for. The camera quality is unmatched — if you’re in the market for a phone with the best camera, the S23 Ultra is your best bet. It offers 12 megapixels with its front facing camera (which is fine, TBH), and 200 megapixels with its rear-facing camera (this is incredible). Not only does it take professional-level photos, but you have tons of editing tools — most of which I haven’t even had the chance to play with yet because there are so many.

Just keep in mind that the photos you’re seeing aren’t nearly as good as they actually are — by sending myself photos to my laptop and then uploading them to StyleCaster.com, I’m compressing the files (which impacts and disintegrating its quality). It’s difficult to capture how sharp and bright the images actually are — so you’re going to have to trust me on this.

It’s really similar to a digital SLR (which I actually have) in that you can change shutter speed, aperture, white balance, and film speed.
Lastly, the phone’s battery life: It’ll go about a day-and-a-half without needing to charge it (and it takes about two hours to fully charge — which you can do wirelessly if you want). Granted, all phones have great battery longevity when you first buy them. TBD on whether the battery holds up a year from now!
